While leisure is more likely a form of entertainment or sleep, recreation is active for the participant but in a refreshing and diverting manner. As people in the world's wealthier regions lead increasingly sedentary lifestyles, the need for recreation has increased. The rise of so called active vacations exemplifies this. HealthA few individuals view recreation as largely non-productive, even trivial. Excessive recreation is not considered healthy, and may be labeled as escapism. However, research has shown that recreation contributes to satisfaction, and that the stress management aspects of it contribute to quality of life, health and wellness, happiness, and that the use of recreation as a diversion may have clinical applications to individuals with chronic pain and other health impairments. In some cultures and religions, recreation is encouraged on certain days and discouraged on others. For example, in Judaism, Shabbat is a day for recreation, study, and relaxation; many Christian churches also have Sabbath. However, others interpret Sabbath to be a day of worship. According to research cited in Time magazine, stress is a major factor in many of the leading causes of death in the United States. From Wikipedia under the

I love doing things outdoors (hiking, biking, running, etc..) Are there any good jobs out there with that I can get with that kind of degree? Can I get a job outdoors that makes at least a decent amount of money? Is there tough competitetion in this field? Thanks for any help. I just doubt it will carry much weight. If you're an outdoors guy, perhaps that should be the focus (as opposed to the activities you do outdoors). There are lots of outdoorsy jobs, such as Land Resources, Forestry, Fish & Wildlife Management, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), etc. I'm not sure how much they pay, but I know the government hires a lot of folks with these degrees to work in National Parks, so I'm guessing it's probably not too bad. I'm a civil war reenactor (Confederate) so I'd like to think I can speak to this pretty well. They ate as much and as often as they could, which wasn't always a lot, but they did have feasts at times. There were a lot of musicians with all kinds of instruments and they would sing and play a lot. A major event would be a dance of some kind if it could be arranged with some women. They would certainly drink alot. They smoked/chewed tobacco when they had it, made all kinds of personal craft items like boxes, figurines, pictures. Many of them would write a lot of letters or kept diaries. Some would read if they were able. The bible was very popular. Prostitution was a major industry wherever soldiers were, especially in Union armies.… [cont.] Answered by mambomike282 - Fri Sep 4 22:28:16 2009 Whats the Difference between recreation and underground on xbox live?
Q. I have been playing Xbox 360 live for a while now, and i see some gamertags have underground and some recreation, whats the difference, can someone explain, Asked by Pit Bull - Tue Sep 4 05:45:51 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. That's a user selected gamer zone. Quote from x-box official website: "Gamer Zone Your Gamer Zone is something you select yourself. Your initial choices fall into four categories: the Recreation zone, where casual gamers thrive; the Family zone, where parents and younger gamers alike can enjoy family-friendly gaming; the Pro zone, a place for hardcore gamers who don't want to deal with lame griefers; and the Underground zone, where anything goes (and where Family zone gamers probably don't want to go, if you catch my drift)." So basically you pick who and what type of people you will be matched up with. Answered by Rob - Tue Sep 11 22:02:23 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "recreation" Recreation on agenda for early 2010
