How do you reduce suffocating your index fingers while flossing your teeth?
Q. I already know about the basic methods of wrapping the ends around your index fingers and scraping the teeth up/down instead of saw-like motion. Every time I taut the floss to get some good scraping though, it'll squeeze to the point where I can barely feel my fingertips for a minute. What could I be doing wrong exactly?

A. they make really good floss picks now. they are awesome and make me want to floss more. no gross string, no suffocation. they sell them in every store in the dental dept.

How do I find the refractive index of lemon oil?
Q. "A red laser beam travels from flint glass into lemon oil. The angle of incidence is 40 and the angle of refraction is 44.4 . What is the refractive index of lemon oil? The flint glass has a index of refraction of 1.61, if that means anything... My teacher is very unclear of things and is bad at explaining things. Please help me.

A. use snells law: n1 sinx1 = n2 sinx2 n1, n2 are the indices of refraction of the 1st and 2ndmedium the index of refraction is a measure of how much light will bend (refract) in a certain medium because the speed of light slows down in that medium x1 is the angle of incidence x2 is the angle of refraction here n1=1.61 n2=? x1=40 deg x2=44.4 deg 1.62 sin 40=n2 sin44.4 n2=1.62x sin40/sin44.4 = 1.49

What is the difference between a Exchange traded fund and a index fund?
Q. I am 21 and i ma looking to put my money back to work for me this year. I was told that my best bet is to invest in a index fund that track the S&P 500. However i am also being told that Exchange traded funds (EFT) are the way to go. I would like to know what is the main differences between the two. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Asked by Maurice R - Sat Jan 3 11:34:55 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. An ETF is an index fund as it holds a basket of stocks reflecting a particular index or sector. It can be bought or sold at any time during the day on the open market, and typically charges a fairly low amount for the management. Typically you might buy shares in an ETF, and 100 is the round lot multiple which is most easily traded, although many ETFs trade enough shares that you can get lower multiples traded as well. (eg. 83 shares at $12 for about $996). You'll pay a commission for each transaction, the amount varying with the brokerage you do business with. If you're referring to index fund as a mutual fund which tracks an index, it its price is typically set at the end of the day, and can only be sold or bought at the end of day… [cont.]
