GNU Free Documentation License I'm waking up to dreams of committing suicide, what can I do to get rid of these dreams? Q. I have been having repeated dreams of committing suicide. The dreams don't actually involve the final event of pulling the trigger, but they do involve holding a gun to my head. I'm waking up to these dreams and they are interfering with my ability to get a good nights rest. I have a therapist and a psychiatrist. I also am on anti-depressants already. Watch some funny movies, or read a funny or pleasant story. It sounds corny, but I love to read Reminisce magazine and learn about the lives that my parents and grandparents lived. It's lighthearted reading that doesn't evoke any negative thought patterns. Also, don't eat anything after 8 in the evening. Now, tell yourself over and over "I would never do something stupid like kill myself". Do this for several days. Say it with conviction. Before you go to bed, thank God for all of your blessings. I think I maybe be starting menopause. I do have an appointment with my gyno. But I have been having some really strange dreams lately. They are really effecting my sleep. Quite possibly, yes. I find that I have very strange dreams in the couple of days before my period, so I guess maybe there is some connection between hormone levels and weird dreams! The other thing I've heard is that when your body temperature is higher than usual, you don't sleep as deeply, and so you're more likely to remember your dreams. I don't know much about the menopause, but I know one of the symptoms is hot flushes, so it could be that your night time body temperature is a little higher than usual. So maybe your dreams are always that weird and you don't usually remember them! Q. Has anyone heard of or had experiences communicating with other people in their dreams(or during lucid dreams). I think that my boyfriend and I have dreams together, but its hard to know for sure because he has a really hard time remembering his dreams. Is it possible? If so, how can I do this more often? I am able to Lucid Dream and in my search on yahoo, I have found a couple people who "Dream Walk" and I have mixed feelings about it. Some people have tried communicating with friends and others have done things that they believe have effected others in real life. One woman was a vampire and sucked another woman's blood in her dream and then swore she ran into the person one day and the person looked scared of her. I also had a man tell me that the same thing had happened to him. It seems to border on Satanic actions to me and I have never attempted to try it. I heard a woman on the radio the other night talking about how her mother would come to her in her dreams and then one night she tried it.
