Its usage varies in different ways in accord with different disciplines: For example, in psychology and cognitive science it refers to an information processing view of an individual's psychological functions. The autonomous elements of each 'society' would have the opportunity to demonstrate emergent behavior in the face of some crisis or opportunity. I am currently getting counseling with a general counselor for Panic Disorder. I am on Lexapro and Xanax, which i am reducing my dosage of (xanax only) to see how i do on just the lexapro. I am hearing more about Cognitive Therapy and am wondering what the difference really is. I am alot better since my panic attacks began in April, but am worried about coming off my meds. Any advice on the cognitive therapy? Asked by Republican Girl - Fri Aug 22 15:12:37 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. What you may be able to do is find ways to help your son with gaining social skills and improving sensory tolerances. Your son may benefit from behavioral or cognitive therapy targeting social skill development and understanding. He may need help with learning ways of coping with an overload of sensory input. He may not be able to provide his own structure but may need to have his environment and routines structured for him. A good place to start is by writing down a list or description of symptoms/behaviors/concer ns that you feel need to be addressed. Take a copy of this list to the school ask his teacher if any of these apply to your son in the… [cont.] Answered by elnino - Sat Feb 4 04:21:53 2006 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Cognitive"
