Seriously, are on line market research companies and focus groups legitimate?
Q. I know that there is money to be made as a market research focus group participate. I have gone to many different ones during the last few years. I have made over a $1000. But these are at regular companies who have actual offices with real staff. I am always told that you can make money answering surveys on the Internet and it is a great way to make a few extra bucks during slow times at work. But seriously will they actually send you money or are all these just a con?

A. Massachusetts is a very active area and there are tons of groups. Here are some links to some of them. I also included info on meet up sessions where different groups can get together to discuss their investigations. This might be a very good place to find a group that is in your area and who would be interesting to work with. I hope that helps. :)

A. As far as I could get, you meant Shiaat and Sonniah (if i'm not wrong with the spellings), based on their religion (Islam) they should not be against each other, but covertly they are. Overall there is no extreme hatred within Muslims.

Are they any research groups/surveys which hire 14 year olds and pay well?
Q. Dude, first off I am not some random 14 year old, and we're not customers, because we're not buying anything. I never said 'make good money' all I said was "pay well", and even if I was buying something, that would make me a customer, and I think my opinion is as valuable as any others. I just want to know about any survey or research groups which pay 14 year olds to participate in.
Asked by Zom B - Sat Apr 26 00:59:52 2008 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Whatever age you are, you'll only ever receive a few surveys from any one company which is why the key to a regular income is signing up to a large number of companies. The best way to do this is to work through one of the many free online survey directories but in your case you are somewhat restricted by your age. Luckily though there are a few companies that accept members under 18 and some like Choozz that are specifically aimed at teens and/or children. Take a look at which lists panels looking for younger members. They also have separate listings for UK and international teens. It's also worth noting that all panels sometimes require the opinion of children and teens but will address the surveys to the parent so see if you can… [cont.]

Can you turn up barefoot to market research/focus groups?
Q. I usually don't wear shoes but when I do market research I always put them on. Would it be okay to turn up barefooted?
Asked by Barefooted - Fri Jul 25 08:20:18 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. From my experiences, in a situation like a focus group, nobody thinks about our bare feet half as much as WE DO! I attended a focus group barefoot once, and nobody said a word. Other times I've worn flip flops in, then took them off and never put them back on! Nobody seemed to care! So, enjoy your barefootedness!

Do you use snopes.com to research the truth behind some of the facebook groups?
Q. Like for example on facebook groups called "We will not pay $4.99 a month to use facebook" and the recent one where people posted on their status to type "automation labs" into their privacy settings to prevent pedophiles from taking your information. If people did a little research then they would find that a lot of it is a hoax.

Q. I can't seem to find specific groups for a project, please help... I really prefer websites, or at least something I can document. yes embryonic stem cells Just to let you all know i completly opposed Embryonic stem cell research. Still undecided on adult.
Asked by DeAnna - Tue Oct 24 21:44:50 2006 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It depends on what kind of stem cell research. I think your question concerns embryonic stem cell research. If you use the words embryonic and oppose in a search you might get groups that oppose it. The Roman Catholic Church is one such group. Groups that support it, I guess the Democratic National Party or whatever it is called, would however likely only call it stem cell research and ignore the type it is. Adult stem cell research is moral and has potential and I am unaware of any opposition to it. However, those making money off of the current research probably oppose it for wealth reasons without admitting it.

Q. Here in the greater Washington DC area, there are six different companies that do market research focus groups for companies. They all need people to participate. If you meet the demographics they are looking for, you could be paid from $70-$300 for your time. The time commitment is usually about 2 hours. You sit around a conference room table with a dozen or so people and a professional facilitor and discuss a topic. Your comments are videotaped and evaluated. It is alot of fun. They usually pay you in cash at the end of the session. Have you ever gone to something like this? A. I have done it in San Francisco. It really isn't a way to "make money" though, since you're barred from participating in another for about 6 months. Frequently, one of the qualifying questions is something like "Have you participated in any other focus group or market research with X number of months?" Ultimately, I got a job with the company. Fascinating. So many of my co-workers would fill the easy empty slots, leaving us to find one 65 y/o Asian woman who stood on her head every other Thursday. But I usually managed to find her.

A. The abortion rights groups pushed that one as a way to make sure life isn't defined as beginning when the sperm and the egg meet. President Bush had talked with many scientists who said adult stem cells showed more likelihood of success than embryonic. This was a way of marginalizing the fertilized egg. It was certainly political. And it is a dangerous political game. They wanted to take money from a program which was showing results and put it in a program which was going nowhere, all for political reasons. A. You could try doing online surveys like I do at this site. The online survey site I am a part of does not have any fees and registration is fee. It in fact does really pay as other users have proven so.I have already made $20 and I just started two days ago. Payment is a check that comes to you in the mail. :) Minimum age to join is 13. Check it out at this blog or my profile for more information: If you have any questions or need help, feel free to ask me :)
